The concept for this coffee table is to use a single intelligent extruded aluminum section and (re)arrange the unit to create a vast amount of diversity. The table is comprised of 6 identical extrusions that slot together to create two stands, effectively forming two ribbons that support the glazing. The cantilevers of the extrusion are designed to ‘balance’ each other and be stabalized by the glazing. The glass and rubber floor guards sit into the same slot as the extrusions. The table allows for a dynamic flexibility, creating or concealing slots for magazines and other artifacts.
